Define the position, obtain the prevailing wage, and conduct public recruitment as required by the U.S. Department of Labor.

12 months

The Department of Labor reviews and approves the labor certification. The filing date becomes your case's priority date.

2 months

The employer files a petition for a foreign worker with USCIS.

1-3 months

Premium $2,805

USCIS approves the petition. Premium Processing is available for a $2,805 fee.

2 months

Your case is transferred to the National Visa Center, where you file your immigrant visa application and submit civil documents.

8-18 months

Depends on the monthly Visa Bulletin

Wait for your turn in the monthly Visa Bulletin, complete the immigration medical exam, and attend your interview at the consulate.

1-6 months

The whole family enters the U.S. while the visa is valid and begins work with the sponsoring employer.

30-90 days

Permanent resident cards are mailed to your U.S. residential address.
